Job description

We are seeking a talented and pro-active lead piping engineer for an international assignment in Norway. You will be employed in Sweden but travel to Norway on a weekly basis. We have a site based team working on location at one of our client’s refineries in Norway where we supply multi discipline engineering services supporting our client’s technical department.

You will work as a project engineer with focus on piping design and engineering working on both maintenance projects as well as small/medium investment projects. Part of this job is coordination of global integrated delivery which is engineering services done by other global Jacobs offices.

Main responsibilities

  • Gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget and schedule to lead discipline engineering and design.

  • Work pro-actively to recognize and communicate piping scope changes promptly.

  • Provide piping deliverables such as isometrics, piping layouts, plot plans etc. in accordance with the client’s expectations.

  • Provide piping stress calculations.

  • Provide technical specifications and data sheets.

  • Provide bulk MTO’s.

  • Participate in vendor documentation reviews.

  • Participate in inter-discipline checking.

  • Participate in cost estimating and planning of projects.

  • Provide construction assistance and support on site.

Work in compliance with both client and Jacobs QA and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering or diploma from an equivalent technical education required.

  • 5 years of experience in piping engineering and design.

  • Oil & gas, refinery or petrochemical industry jobsite experience. (Hazardous areas)

  • Flexible, adaptable and collaborative approach to multidisciplinary design, willing to engage across the design disciplines.

  • Ability to organize and set priorities.

  • Ability to communicate efficiently in Swedish and/or Norwegian.

  • Ability to communicate efficiently in English will be a benefit.

  • Ability to present in Swedish and/or Norwegian as well as English.

  • Proactive attitude and a team player personality.

  • Working experience in Autocad 2014 or later.

  • Working experience in MS Office.

  • Working experience in CAEPIPIE will be a benefit.

  • Working experience in plant design 3D tools such as PDMS or SP3D will be a benefit.
