Job description

We are seeking a talented and pro-active piping & mechanical field engineer for an international assignment in Norway. You will be employed in Sweden but travel to Norway on a weekly basis. We have a site based team working on location at one of our client’s refineries in Norway where we supply multi discipline engineering services supporting our client’s technical department.

You will work as a field engineer/field supervisor during the construction of maintenance and small/medium investment projects on site. Your main responsibility is to coordinate the construction activities and support the construction team with technical knowledge.

Main responsibilities

  • Gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget and schedule to coordinate and supervise the construction activities.

  • Work pro-actively to recognize and communicate scope changes and/or installation issues promptly.

  • Provide technical support during construction.

  • Coordinate construction materials and goods.

  • Participate in construction planning.

  • Participate in checking of construction packages.

  • Provide cost estimates and participate in planning of projects.

  • Work in compliance with both client and Jacobs QA and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering or diploma from an equivalent technical education required.

  • 5 years of experience in piping/mechanical engineering and design.

  • Construction jobsite experience.

  • Oil & gas, refinery or petrochemical industry jobsite experience. (Hazardous areas)

  • Flexible, adaptable and collaborative approach to multidisciplinary design, willing to engage across the design disciplines.

  • Ability to organize and set priorities.

  • Ability to communicate and present effectively in Swedish and/or Norwegian.

  • Ability to present in Swedish and/or Norwegian as well as English.

  • Proactive attitude.

  • Working experience in MS Office.

  • Working experience in Autocad 2014 or later will be a benefit.

  • Working experience with plant safety procedures is a benefit.

  • Working experience with QMS systems is a benefit.

  • Working experience with HMS systems is a benefit.
