Microsoft Developer Center Norway, with Offices in Oslo, Trondheim and Tromsø is part of the Office division within Microsoft and is a nexus of information sharing across applications inside of Microsoft Office 365, with ownership of how users experience people, building a semantic information graph across content like files, and providing organization wide searches. We are transforming Microsoft Office 365 to an intelligent fabric to empower people and organizations to achieve more. We span the gamut from user interface design and modern open source implementations to backend data storage and serving across more than 100,000 backend servers.

As the Graph- and People services organization in Microsoft, we are building graph capabilities into the core of Office 365. Our vision is to let partners within Microsoft utilize our capabilities to unlock the enormous potential sitting in the Office 365 data. To do this we need to create clean and effective APIs accessible from microservices running in Azure or other fabrics within Microsoft. Our software is powering multiple scenarios for hundreds of million users every day.

Responsibilities

Owning software development cycle end to end: development, testing, rollout and running.

You are developing clean and effective code by allowing refactoring when needed and ensuring your code base incl. tests are ready for change.

Creating APIs accessible from microservices running in Azure or other fabrics within Microsoft.

You are actively discussing within our team and beyond what is the correct way and why.

Qualifications

Based on a BS/MS degree of computer science or related; 5+ years of backend services or cloud-based development experience in highly scalable distributed systems.

Solid experience in designing, building, testing and debugging commercial software using one or more of these areas: C#, Performance, Big Scale, Microservices Architecture, Security, Azure or Core of O365.

Ability to solve complex problems across teams in an open and agile startup-like environment.

Fluent in English.
