DNV GL Marketing and Communication Manager in Høvik, Norway

To enhance our Reach, Reputation, Relations and Revenue - we are searching for a top motivated colleague to take on the role of Marketing and Communications Manager, Electric Grid. This is a global role and the location will be decided depending on the most suitable candidate. The Global Marketing department is located in Høvik, Norway while the main product team is situated in Corvallis, Oregon, US. The role will also cooperate closely with the Business Area Energy located in Arnhem, Netherlands and Singapore.

Software is one of five business areas in DNV GL, and the MarCom team consists of 18 dedicated people. Including our regional Marketing and Communications unit we are in total 24 highly skilled professionals. You will work in close cooperation with colleagues from our divisions; Sales, Consulting and Product & Technology, in addition to peers in the other business areas and Group Communications.

The role will report to head of section for "Campaigns", a unit consisting of additional ten colleagues covering different software product lines within oil and gas, maritime, energy and QHSE as well as our Regional MarCom. In addition, the MarCom unit consists of the following pillars; Content and Brand, Analytics, Digital Platforms & Technology, Media Relations & Internal Communications.

We are looking for a candidate who will manage the marketing and communications activities to ensure the global market success of our software solutions targeting utilities within the energy industry.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to

  • Establish a tactical marketing and communications plan, with corresponding activity plan. All to enhance our Reach, Reputation, Relation and Revenue

  • Campaign planning and execution, utilizing channels like social media, video, ads, webinars, events, PR, search engines, web, etc.

  • In collaboration with the Sales Division run the lead management process

  • In collaboration with the Sales and Product & Technology Divisions manage product roll-out processes

  • Develop marketing collaterals, including insight papers, to enhance our reach and reputation

  • Develop digital customer journey nurturing programs, both pre- and after purchase

  • Plan and execute Search Engine Marketing programs

  • Plan and execute customer advocacy programs

  • Be responsible for marketing analytics and reporting within the software product line, utilizing tools like Salesforce and Google Analytics

  • Continuously focus on achieving lead and opportunity targets, and improving conversion rates of the marketing and communications activities

Global travel (10%)

Key performance indicators:

Lead generation (no. of qualified/converted leads), successful product roll-outs

Internal relations / stakeholders:

​Global marketing Software, Product & Technology division, Consulting division

  • Minimum seven years of experience from b2b/b2c/b2p marketing communications on tactical and operative level

  • Experience in software solutions either within Sales, Marketing or Product development domain

  • Experience in the energy utility domain and an understanding of the competitive landscape is an additional advantage

  • You have broad and in-depth knowledge of digital marketing programs and can develop a strategy thereafter implement tactical and operational plans based on your systematic findings.

  • Background from international IT/software organizations is an advantage.

  • Digital platforms and how to utilize these to optimize conversions, e.g. Digital Lead Management tools

  • Google Analytics and AdWords

  • Search Engine Marketing

  • CRM tools, Salesforce and/or Oracle is an advantage
