Cabot Corporation New Business Development Manager in Agotnes, Bergen, Norway
Prospects and assesses new & current markets for potential new application & segment development. We are looking to fill this position either in Aberdeen, UK, or Bergen, Norway.
Assesses potential market size, needs, existing and potential competitive situations, technical feasibility and other critical success factors. Researches, analyzes and reports industry trends and data that impact business’ volume, margins, utilization, and market share. Assesses Cabot strengths and weaknesses relative to the market needs in order to determine business opportunities for growth in current fields and expansion into new markets;
Provides a detailed understanding of the business landscape including macroeconomic environment, competition, customers, suppliers and technology;
Develops and assesses business opportunity. Evaluates product against market opportunities/challenges;
Develops business cases including strategic rationale, fit and overall business plan and current asset base, financial returns, risk and mitigations, timeline, resources needed. Develops and delivers a business plan for specific market opportunity. Critically reviews progress against plan to continuously assess commercial potential, making adjustments as necessary in order to assure acceptable profitability;
Identifies and develops potential internal and external strategic partners in development of these opportunities. Works closely with cross-functional counterparts (Marketing/Sales, Finance, Technical Service, R&D, Legal, Manufacturing, Regional / Global Business Development Directors) and provides project leadership in the development and implementation of plans and strategies to ensure successful introduction of applications & products. Determines, assesses, and understands the tradeoffs of various approaches. Communicates status of projects and identifies / leverages appropriate internal resources;
Collects/analyzes market and/or customer validation data that can support decisions regarding continuation or withdrawal from specific opportunities or ventures. Supports negotiations of key terms with third parties;
Supports marketing strategy initiatives in line with the opportunities identified/ in line with business development strategy defined/ developed for the various segments/ applications;
Supports commercial negotiations with new/ existing customers.
Strong knowledge of regional / global upstream drilling & completion markets and key people;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to make presentations. Negotiation and presentation skills;
Ability to visualize and follow through on ideas and concepts. Displays entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to explore new ideas;
Adept at organizing and connecting seemingly unrelated ideas. Analytical skills and ability to understand interdependencies and cause and effect relationships;
Follow through; project management and execution skills. Ability to work collaboratively with others;
Degree in Science or engineering preferred;
Relevant experience (fluids technology and project management).
